CAMPAIGN BASICS

CREATE A DESIGN

  1. Bold is Always Better

Bold

Designs often look great in its digital format, but then appear illegible or bland when displayed on a product. Thin text or small patterns and details can hurt your legibility when printed. For a guaranteed visibility, make sure to use bold fonts and patterns.

  2. Minimum Colors Perform Best

Minimunm Colors

Designs with a basic color palette can have a tremendous impact on the success of your designs. Our research shows that 47% of the merchandise from our top 100 campaigns featured two colors or less.

Gradients never print well and should always be avoided. In place of a gradient, we suggest utilizing halftones to achieve the same color fade effect while ensuring proper print quality.

When using halftones (which creates a gradient effect), it’s best to keep the style consistent and avoid mixing a continuous tone gradient in the design.

  3. Feature Contrasting Colors

Contrast 2

Another factor that affects your designs viewability is color. When the main colors of your design resemble the color of the medium it sits on, your design immediately becomes difficult to view. For example: If you are printing on a black garment always make sure to remove any black portions of your design (leaving those areas transparent). This allows the garment to replace the black area giving you a higher quality print because printing the garment color on the garment creates unattractive color variations.  Use contrasting colors to make your product really “pop” for  potential buyers.

  4. Add Personalization to Products

First, create a new Product within the GearLaunch Campaign section. Next, choose the item, set a price, pick colors, and upload your artwork.  Then, click the button that says, “Convert to a Personalizable Campaign.”

Select your font choice from the dropdown list, choose a color for the text, and enter your default text. The default text is what your customers will see, prompting them to enter their own personalized text.

Some suggestions: “Your name here”, “Enter text here”, or “Personalize this text”.

Resize and move the text box to fit the appropriate area of your design.
Note: If the text box covers your design, that part of the design will not be seen/printed.

Then, click on “Save and Exit” on the top right of the screen.

On the product page, your customers will see a “Personalization Front” text box. The text entered in the box is what will be printed in the item.
